About the board

What is FBISE, and why chapter-wise notes matter

The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), headquartered in Islamabad, is the statutory examination body responsible for conducting the Secondary School Certificate (SSC / Matric) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC / Intermediate) examinations for schools in the Islamabad Capital Territory, cantonment and garrison schools across Pakistan, and Pakistani educational institutions abroad.

Because FBISE draws students from such a wide range of schools — cadet colleges, cantonment boards, model colleges and overseas Pakistani schools — its Matric syllabus, textbooks and paper pattern are kept fairly standardised. That consistency is exactly what makes well-organised, chapter-wise notes so useful: once a note is mapped to the official curriculum sequence, it stays relevant for every student sitting the same paper, regardless of which school they attend.

Our Class 9 and Class 10 notes follow the textbook order chapter by chapter, so you can revise in the same sequence your teacher is teaching, jump straight to a topic you're stuck on, or work backwards from a past paper question to the concept behind it.

Quick facts about FBISE Matric

  • Covers SSC Part-I (Class 9) and SSC Part-II (Class 10) examinations.
  • Question papers combine objective (MCQs), short-answer and long-answer components.
  • Serves Islamabad schools, cantonment/garrison boards and overseas Pakistani schools.
  • Results and grading typically follow an annual examination cycle set by the board.
  • Always cross-check exam dates, paper schemes and syllabus changes on the official FBISE notice board, as these are updated by the board each year.

Why these notes work

Built to help you understand, not just memorise

Concept clarity first

Every chapter opens with the idea explained in plain words before any formula or definition, so you know what you're memorising and why it matters — not just how to recite it.

Mapped to the exam pattern

Notes are organised around how FBISE actually asks questions: definitions and short answers for Part-II, and clearly flagged "important for MCQs" points for the objective section.

Practice built in

Each subject page pairs its notes with chapter-end MCQs and links to matching past-paper questions, so revision and practice happen in the same place.

Free, and it stays that way

No account, no paywall, no hidden PDF fee. The site is supported by a small amount of on-page advertising so every note stays free to download.

Study strategy

7 ways students use these notes to score higher

A simple weekly routine, built from what actually shows up in FBISE Matric papers.

  • Read the chapter note before the lecture

Skim the note the night before your teacher covers it, so the classroom lecture becomes a second pass instead of your first exposure to the topic.

  • Highlight the "MCQ-important" points

These are the definitions and one-line facts that FBISE tends to test in the objective section — collect them into a single revision sheet per subject.

  • Do the chapter MCQs immediately after reading

Testing yourself right after reading locks the concept in far better than re-reading the same paragraph a second time.

  • Work through 3 years of past papers per subject

Past papers show you exactly how examiners phrase questions on a topic — often more useful than the textbook wording itself.

  • Keep a formula/definition notebook

For Math, Physics and Chemistry, copy every formula into one small notebook you can flip through in the last week before exams.

  • Revise Urdu and Islamiat out loud

These subjects reward recall of exact wording — reading key answers aloud a few times before the exam helps more than silent reading.

  • Time yourself on one full past paper

A week before the exam, attempt one complete past paper under real time limits to find out where you're losing minutes, not just marks.
